Who Should Attend

Built for Clinicians Who See Foot Issues Every Day

Whether you're a podiatrist wanting to sharpen your mechanical assessment skills or a GP who keeps sending patients to specialists without a clear picture of why — this course gives you a working framework you can use immediately.

Podiatrists
Deepen your biomechanical evaluation approach and learn Dr. Santopietro's proprietary gait and photo-based diagnostic method.
Physical Therapists
Understand how orthotic intervention complements rehabilitation and when a mechanical solution is a prerequisite for PT to be effective.
Orthopedic Surgeons
Identify patients whose knee, hip, and lower back presentations are rooted in foot mechanics — potentially avoiding unnecessary surgical consultations.
General Practitioners
Gain a practical screening approach for foot and gait issues so you can advise patients more confidently before referring them onward.

What You'll Walk Away With

Fifty years of clinical practice distilled into two focused hours. The course is practical, not theoretical — built around cases, patterns, and decisions you can apply the following Monday.

1
Gait Analysis FundamentalsHow to observe a patient walking and immediately identify compensatory patterns, asymmetries, and red flags that point to mechanical origin.
2
Foot Typing and Structural AssessmentClassifying foot types quickly in a clinical setting — flat feet, high arches, overpronation, supination — and understanding what each means for the rest of the kinetic chain.
3
The Kinetic Chain ConnectionWhy knee valgus, hip tilt, and lower back pain are often foot problems in disguise. Case examples drawn from 50 years of patient outcomes, including NFL and collegiate athletes.
4
Footwear as a Clinical VariableHow shoe construction amplifies or corrects mechanical issues — and how to advise patients on footwear choices before they arrive at a specialist's door.
5
When to Refer and What to SayA clear framework for identifying patients who will benefit from custom orthotics, and how to set expectations so they arrive prepared for the evaluation process.
6
Conservative Care FirstDr. Santopietro's philosophy of exhausting mechanical and conservative solutions before escalating to surgical intervention — and the clinical evidence behind that approach.

Dr. Frank J. Santopietro, D.P.M.
50+ Years in Practice Patented Orthotic System NFL Team Podiatrist Published Research

Dr. Santopietro has been practicing podiatric medicine in Brookline, Massachusetts since 1974. Over five decades, he has developed and refined a proprietary approach to biomechanical evaluation — one grounded in photography, gait analysis, and a deep understanding of how the foot's structure drives outcomes throughout the body.

For 25 years, he served as team podiatrist for the New England Patriots, caring for athletes at the highest level of physical demand. He has also treated athletes from Providence College, Boston College, and Boston University, and consulted for NFL teams including the Tennessee Titans and the St. Louis (now Los Angeles) Rams.

His patented EvenKeel Orthotic System is the product of decades of clinical refinement and patient outcome data. He has authored medical articles on biomechanics, and has long believed that education and community outreach are essential to improving outcomes for patients — long before they reach a specialist.

This course is an extension of that belief: the more clinicians understand about mechanical foot function, the better patients are served at every stage of care.
