Our orthotic therapy is very effective because we design and manufacture our orthotics in-house using innovative designs, materials and methods. Our orthotics are unlike others that patients may have tried. First of all, they are semi-soft and are full length. They provide prescription across the entire foot and as a result they avoid “hotspots” (where a lot of force is concentrated on one area of the foot, often found with arch supports or rigid orthotics). This makes them very comfortable while also allowing aggressive prescriptions to alter the biomechanics of gait.
Many of our patients have had excellent outcomes with the conservative orthotic therapy we can deliver and have requested that we help them get into the shoes they want to wear. In the summer this often means sandals. Can an orthotic be put into a sandal? YES. The sandal has to be appropriate so we have put together some guidelines on selecting a good sandal.
